Coaches
The club is built around coaching. There is always a
need for additional coaches or assistant coaches. If
you are interested in coaching in any capacity we would
be very interested in hearing from you. Please contact
Greg Russell at
Greg_Russell@telus.net.
We need coaches for various age groups this upcoming
season. All expenses are paid for coaches and club gear
is provided. In addition, the club will pay for courses
towards coaching certification and we offer bursaries
for college and university students who participate as
coaches.
Coaching Code of Conduct
Volleyball BC has a
Coaching Code of Conduct
that all coaches should be aware of and comply with. In
addition, all coaches are required to submit a criminal
record check form prior to the beginning of the season.
Download the
Criminal Record Check letter
and take it to the RCMP detachment in the City in which
you reside. Usually there is no fee for this
service. However, if there is a fee then the club
will reimburse you.
Coaching Certification
Volleyball BC has a mandatory coaching certification
policy. Certification required is as follows:
16&U and Below: Fully certified Level 1 (Technical,
Practical and Theory)
17&U and Above: Fully certified Level 2 (Technical,
Practical and Theory)
Head coaches may be required to show their proof of
certification prior to each match at all events
(including Super Volleys and Super Series). If
requirements are not met at Provincial and National
Championships, the club is fined $100.
Information regarding the coaching certification process
is available on the
Volleyball BC web site
and at
